El Maple is a great little vegetarian café in La Mariscal area of Quito. The staff are really friendly and the food cheap and delicious. The menu has a good variety of vegetarian dishes including an incredible burger, which for those veggies who every now and then miss or crave meat fills the void! We also tried the samosas which are good but prepare yourself – they are very spicy! If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat then definitely consider El Maple.

This place was an unbelievably great find for a Sunday when absolutely every other veg restaurant in the city seemed to be closed. If you go by taxi, make sure you specify Joaquin PintO with an "O," as there is also a street named "Pinta" about 10 blocks away. Joaquin Pinto E7-68 telf 2900-000
I tried the national platter as recommended here and really loved it. Also got some sandwiches for the flight that were perfect, including the quinoa falafel. Smoothies were right on. Great place!
