Review: Notar Sante Arte Bar Restaurante, Quito, Ecuador

We stumbled across this small café on our first day in Quito.  We were searching for a cheap, tasty almuerzo (set lunch) and we certainly found one!  Such an amazing quality and value meal – for $3.50.  You get a three course meal plus a drink for this, which you cant really beat.

The food was so good that we went back and had meals from the normal menu which is also very good value.  I wanted to try the locro Quiteño soup which had been recommended as a tasty local cuisine and it was delicious.  Avocado seems a strange thing to be floating in soup but it really works.

With friendly staff, a nice atmosphere, and full of locals to chat to this is a must-visit restaurant in Quito’s old town.  It really fills up at lunch so make sure you get there early for the almuerzo option.
